What is a finished pendant?
A finished pendant is a complete piece of jewelry. On impervora.com, each pendant page states the metal and karat, the stone and how it is set, the pendant dimensions and the bail opening, and the finish, which is polished. Pages with diamonds or gemstones also carry a disclosure stating whether the stone is natural or lab-grown, any supplier-disclosed treatment, and the supplier-assigned quality range.
What a finished pendant usually does not include is a chain. Our pendant pages say so plainly, for example “Chain: Not included” or “The pendant is sold on its own; pair it with a chain from our chain collection.” Never assume a chain is included unless the page says it is.
Are charms and pendants different?
Many of our stone-set pieces are titled “Charm/Pendant” because they work either way. Their pages describe them as finished pieces that hang “from its bail on a chain or charm holder of your choice”, with the chain not included. In other words, they are finished jewelry in the same sense as a pendant: stone set, metal polished, bail attached. The word that signals a component is not “charm” but “setting”, “bail”, “clasp” or “finding”.
One practical difference is size. Charms tend to be small, so their bail openings can be small too, and a thick chain or a large clasp may not pass through. Compare the bail opening on the page with your chain before you order, or ask us to check it for you.
What is a jewelry-making component?
Components are the unassembled parts jewelers use to make or repair jewelry. Ours, described on our jewelry-making supplies page, include:
- Pendant bails in pinch, snap-on, tapered and rabbit-ear styles, listed by inside opening, for example 2 x 2 mm up to 4.6 x 2.5 mm.
- Empty settings: prong and basket, bezel, fancy-shape and earring settings, each made for one stone size and shape, for example a 3 mm round or a 5 x 5 mm heart.
- Clasps and findings, such as a 7 x 2.75 mm lobster clasp.
These are solid 10K, 14K and 18K gold parts sold one piece per listing. They are commercially made components that we source and sell as supplies; IMPERVORA does not manufacture them. Three facts matter most:
- Stones are never included. Each listing states the stone size the setting is made for, so you supply your own stone.
- Settings arrive semi-polished (tumbled), ready for a final polish after the stone is set.
- Earring settings are sold singly unless the listing says otherwise, so order two for a pair.

If you have a loose stone and want it made into a pendant but do not set stones yourself, a component alone will not get you there. A local bench jeweler can set the stone in a setting you supply, or you can choose a finished pendant instead.
How do shipping and returns differ?
Finished pendants bought on impervora.com
- Ships to US addresses only. Standard Shipping (3-5 business days in transit) is $5.95, and shipping is free on orders of $75 or more.
- Most pieces ship within 1-3 business days of payment once availability is confirmed; made-to-order pieces take longer.
- Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for unworn pieces in their original packaging. Email Concierge@impervora.com for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number first.
- Return shipping for a change of mind is paid by the customer; we cover it when the error is ours. There is no restocking fee, and refunds are issued within 5-7 business days of receiving and inspecting the return.
- Custom, personalized or engraved pieces, pierced earrings, final sale items and gift cards cannot be returned. The full terms are in our Return & Refund Policy.

Whichever you buy, the bail opening matters. It needs to be larger than the thickest part of the chain that passes through it, including the clasp if the pendant has to slide over it. Our finished pendants list the opening on the page, for example 3.35 x 1.56 mm on a small bezel pendant and 5.7 x 2.6 mm on a 3 mm charm.

Do your settings come with a stone?
No. Stones are never included with any setting. Each listing states the stone size and shape the setting is made for, so you can match it to your own stone.
Can I wear a setting or bail as it arrives?
Settings arrive semi-polished (tumbled) and are meant to be finished after the stone is set. If you want something to wear straight away, choose a finished pendant.
Does a finished pendant come with a chain?
