Choosing a Watch

Every watch here comes from one of five makers: Charles-Hubert Paris, Chisel, Mountroyal, Swingtime and Mason. Each listing gives the manufacturer’s model number together with the case material, case size, band, movement, crystal, water resistance and warranty, all taken from the distributor’s product data.

Start with the movement. Most watches here run on a quartz movement, which is accurate and needs only an occasional battery. Automatic watches wind themselves as you wear them. Hand-wound mechanical watches, found mostly among the pocket watches, need winding by the crown. Then choose the case and band: stainless steel suits everyday wear, titanium is lighter on the wrist, ceramic resists scratches, and a leather strap gives a dressier look than a bracelet.

What is the return policy for watches?

Watches have their own terms. You can return an unworn, unaltered watch within 15 days of delivery, in its original packaging with the manufacturer’s warranty card. After that, defects are handled under the manufacturer’s warranty. The full terms are in the watch section of our return policy.

Do the watches come with a warranty?

Yes. Each listing states the manufacturer’s movement warranty from the product data: lifetime or limited lifetime on Charles-Hubert Paris, limited lifetime or one year on Chisel, limited lifetime on Swingtime, and two years on Mountroyal and Mason.

How are watches shipped?

Watches ship from our U.S. watch distribution partner, and the tracking number is emailed when the watch ships. Shipping cost is shown at checkout before you pay.

Are these Swiss-made watches?

No. Each listing states its country of origin as given by the manufacturer.
