Before you choose
An engagement ring built around your choices
The design experience above follows four steps. You begin with the mounting, which sets the architecture of the ring — solitaire, halo, three-stone and other silhouettes each frame a centre stone differently. You then set the stones, choosing the shape and size of the centre stone and whether it is natural or lab-grown. A matching band can be paired at the third step so the finished set sits flush, and the final step reviews the complete specification before anything is requested.
Metal is chosen alongside the mounting. Platinum is the traditional choice for an engagement ring because of its density and the way it holds a setting, and it is available here along with 10K, 14K and 18K gold in white, yellow and rose. Ring size is selected in the same flow, and any sizing charge is shown next to the size rather than added quietly at the end.
Centre-stone shape drives much of the character of the finished ring. Round remains the most common, while oval, emerald, pear, marquise, cushion, radiant, asscher and heart shapes each read very differently at the same carat weight. Stone size is chosen in millimetres so the mounting and the stone stay compatible — the builder only offers sizes the selected mounting can actually hold, which prevents a combination that cannot be made.

- Can I choose between a natural and a lab-grown diamond?
- Yes. The Set Stones step includes a stone-origin selector for natural and lab-grown stones, and pricing updates with the choice.
- Which metals can I choose?
- Platinum, 10K, 14K and 18K gold in white, yellow and rose, along with continuum sterling silver and sterling silver on qualifying designs. Availability varies by mounting.
- Can I find a matching wedding band?
- Yes. The third step of the builder looks up bands designed to sit with the mounting you have chosen. You can also design a band from scratch on our wedding band page.
- Is the ring sizing charge included in the price?
- Sizing charges are shown alongside each finger size as you select it, so the price you see reflects the size you have chosen. Some sizes are supplied exactly and others as an approximate standard size, and the builder distinguishes between them.
- How do I order a ring I have designed?
- Select Request this Item. Your configuration is sent to the IMPERVORA Jewelry Concierge, who confirms the specification, price and lead time with you before production begins.
- Are custom engagement rings returnable?
- Custom, personalized and engraved pieces are made specifically for you and are not resalable, so they cannot be returned. Please review the Return & Refund Policy before ordering.
