Platinum Chains
A platinum chain stays white for life. There is no plating to wear through, so a fine platinum chain worn every day keeps its color, and its density gives even a slender chain a satisfying weight on the skin.
This collection is made up of fine chains, most around 1 mm wide or narrower, suited to wearing alone or carrying a light pendant. The link styles are cable, including diamond-cut versions, rope, box, including a diamond-cut box, wheat, rolo, round snake and curb. Width, surface finish, clasp and length are chosen on each listing, and only combinations currently available can be selected. Every chain here is solid platinum, as its listing states.
Link style sets how a chain looks and behaves. Cable chains are simple round links, flexible and easy to thread through a pendant bail. Diamond-cut chains have small flat facets that catch the light. Rope and wheat chains are woven or braided, with more texture and sparkle. Box chains have square links that resist twisting. Snake chains are smooth and flexible, and rolo chains use round, even links.
Length decides where a chain sits. 16 inches sits at the base of the neck on most adults, 18 inches at the collarbone, 20 inches just below it and 24 inches on the chest. Some chains offer an adjustable 16–18 inch length, and some are offered as bracelet lengths too. Clasp options include spring rings, which are light and discreet, and lobster clasps, which are larger and easier to open.

Will a platinum chain tarnish or change color?
No. Platinum is white throughout and does not need plating. With wear it can develop a soft patina, which can be polished.
Which platinum chain is best for a pendant?
For light pendants, a cable or rolo chain; for heavier ones, a wider option or a box or wheat chain. Check that the chain passes through the pendant's bail.
What clasp should I choose?
A spring ring is small and discreet; a lobster clasp is larger and easier to open. Both are offered on some chains.
